MEMBERSHIP IN NANBA
Full membership in NANBA would confer upon the new bank such benefits as close working relationships with the other tribally owned banks in the U.S. and Canada, discounts on certain bank services, potential loan participations, minority banking opportunities, attendance at NANBA board meetings and many other benefits.
NANBA Classes of Membership
- Full Voting Members. Any bank or other regulated financial institution that whose common stock is owned 51% or more by a federal or state recognized Indian tribe.
- Full Members. (a) Any bank or other regulated financial institution whose common stock is owned 51% or more by individually enrolled member(s) of a state or federally recognized Indian tribe, (b) Any Community Development Financial Institution that has been certified by the CDFI Fund at the U.S. Department of Treasury and whose board composition consists of 51% or more individually enrolled members of a federally or state recognized Indian tribe.
- Associate Members. Any Native or non-Native individual who wishes to support NANBA and its mission and any Native-owned (51% or more) small business (as defined by the SBA).
- Corporate Members. Any large business that wishes to support NANBA and its mission.
- Non-Profits/Foundations/Governmental Agencies. Those non-profits, foundations, and local, state or federal government agencies or government sponsored agencies who wish to support NANBA and its mission.
These classes of membership are subject to revision from time to time by the board of directors of NANBA as they may desire to amend the by-laws of NANBA. In addition the dues and fees as they relate to the various classes of membership of NANBA may be changed or modified by the board of NANBA.
